Salman Khan the highest paid actor in BollywoodActor Salman Khan is on an all-time high with all of his last release crossing the Rs 100 crore mark: ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’, ‘Bodyguard’ and the latest, ‘Ek tha Tiger’ which made the fastest Rs 1000 million!

As the superstar is increasingly being referred to as the ingredient that lets filmmakers gain more than 100 crore per movie, news has it that Salman Khan has gotten even more expensive this time around!
He has been signed for a whopping Rs. 1000 million by producer Ramesh Taurani. If the report is true, Salman would become the highest paid actor in Bollywood.
In conversation with a tabloid, a source revealed the details, “As expected, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has sent the cash registers ringing and many filmmakers have been seen visiting Salman’s residence to make a film with him. However, Taurani, who has earlier worked with Salman and has had him signed since the past couple of years, is very keen that they do a film together.”
“A couple of days back, he met Salman and offered him Rs. 1000 million for a film. Taurani is aware that the actor’s last three films have done business near to Rs. 150 crore net and that’s why he is ready to take the gamble,” added the source.
However, when contacted by the tabloid, Taurani had something different to say. He agreed to the fact that he had signed Salman, but denied the amount as being 1000 million.
Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger box office collection has soared to a staggering Rs 1550 million. And mind you this collection came in the first week itself and there are indications that the film is going to have a long inning at the box office as in many places the theatres still show ‘house full’ signs on the entrances of the theatres.
